Our History

We Are The Best Running Club Since 2013

Harold Wood Running Club started in 2013 and was officially formed from an enthusiastic group of runners in July 2015.   We have all level of runners and have regular Introduction to Running programmes.


We meet Mon & Wed at 6.30pm,

Tuesday 7.00pm – Track night

Thursday 6.00pm – Strength & Conditioning Sessions

Friday 7.15pm – Track night

Saturday – 9am – parkrun

Sunday – 8am


We meet at The Hub, Gubbins Lane, during the Winter months and in the summer months we meet in Harold Wood Park, near the Cricket club.

You can choose what nights that suit you and we have all levels of abilities, each constantly working on their fitness, strength and success.

Our Leaders will welcome you and will allocate you a Group to run with at your pace.   Currently we are booking all runs via Run together.

We participate in parkruns, fun runs, 5k, 10k, half marathons and marathons, trail runs and various challenges and events. We host our own Mince Pie race in December, for Club members only.

We currently have over 100 members, once affiliated you can claim discounts at races and also become a member of the Harold Wood Sports Association.

During Spring/Summer months we take part in East London five Interclub Series ( ELVIS ) and over the Winter months we participate in the Chingford League.

Pre Covid, we hosted an annual 5 mile charity race, we are hoping to resume this in Spring 2023.

We take pride in welcoming all levels of runners, especially beginners and we foster friendliness and mutual support.

We have an active social side with regular Summer, Halloween and Christmas parties.
