January’s member of the month goes to Louise Hawker. Louise and her husband Martin joined HWRC in the Autumn and run alternate nights so one of them can look after their two young children
Louise set herself a challenge in January to run 100 miles in the month and despite having suffered from the Winter Flu bug which kept her out for a few days, she was determined to reach the milestone. Not only did she reach it, she smashed it and ended up running 125.8 miles across 31 runs. Louise also finished top of January’s Fitbit leaderboard with 735,622 steps, which is 120K more than second spot. Louise said on receiving her medal in the post “Loving my first medal of the year. Found the 100 mile challenge very hard, but it gave me motivation to get out to run during the winter.”
Louise has the Dunton Test Track 10miler to look forward to in February and has also signed up to the Brentwood Half Marathon in March.
