This Years Charities

Rainbow Trust supports families who have a child aged 0-18 years with a life threatening or terminal illness and need the bespoke support we offer.

Today there are an estimated 49,000 children and young people in the UK living with a life limiting or life threatening condition who may require palliative care (University of Leeds, 2011). Many of these children and their families are able to cope or are not in a ‘crisis situation’. However, thousands of families have to face the very real possibility that their child may die and struggle to cope on a day to day basis.

Who we support
We support these families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness and are in the greatest need. Our Family Support Workers provide a life line to these families and children. We support the whole family including parents, carers, the unwell child, brothers, sisters and grandparents. They bring support and help to families who so desperately need it at home, in hospital and in the community. Any family can receive support from the moment of their child or young person’s diagnosis.

The Romford Drum & Trumpet Corps (RDTC) is a youth military style marching band, based in the London Borough of Havering (Romford, Essex) .

As one of the oldest independent youth marching bands in the country, it has a proud history with performances throughout the UK, including marching displays, parades, carnivals and concerts.

The band’s music portfolio covers a wide breadth including military marches, film themes, popular music and brass classics, often featuring solos from some of the band’s talented musicians across our brass, woodwind and percussion sections.

In recent years the band has travelled further and performed in France, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Gibraltar and the USA. This year, the band is celebrating its 60th Anniversary!

While the rest of us were resting after a hard 5 mile race this afternoon, this is what my brother was out doing running 10 miles in 64 minutes. Nutter Lol. In all seriousness he loves his running and is good at it, for those of you that know him he is always available for advice and is always there to encourage fellow runners.Every single one of you did superb today on what is a very tough course and the main purpose of posting this is simply to show the hard work and effort that my brother has to put in to run the times he does.Well done again to all of you, running is hard graft, but thoroughly enjoyable, especially when we're running well.

You could tell it had taken lots of planning but it was so well planned. I would definitely do it again, so I'm not surprised everyone was asking what next. The course was good and well structured with the marshals directing everyone through the loops etc even though people were at different stages. It was an absolute pleasure being part of the day and also taking part in the run too. I've never been on Facebook but I'll get the guys to take a look via our Haart Harold Wood Page but please send through to professional pics link when you get it.

Supremely well organised race considering how complex the route could have been for the runners. As it was the marshalling meant there was no confusion at all! Great stuff, thank you!
